Dr. Fournier will guide us on a captivating journey, drawing from his recent experience as a sheep rancher in Southern Alberta, alongside his deep passion for history and earth science. He’ll challenge the skewed narratives surrounding modern farming, revealing their disconnect from reality. Our current way of life relies on the evolution of mechanized, energy-intensive, and highly productive farming practices over the 20th and 21st centuries. Highlighting zero-till methods and nitrogen fertilizers, he’ll showcase their role in boosting yields and drought resilience. Dr. Fournier aims to counter the risky Net Zero ideologies that threaten to undo humanity’s hard-won progress.
Dr. Fournier is an accomplished executive and senior scientist, with a 15-year track record in the oil sands, power generation, environmental science and agricultural industries, both in Canada and in United States.
His career has afforded him an exposure to a diverse range of exciting technology development projects, where he enjoyed fulfilling leadership roles with numerous capital projects, each more than $100 million.
Dr. Fournier`s formal graduate training was in chemical physics, with a focus on solid state electrochemistry specific to hydrogen fuel cells and battery technologies and his undergraduate training was in physics and environmental chemistry.
Currently, Dr. Fournier lives 100 km east of Calgary near the village of Rockyford, where he and his family own and operate a ranch along Service Berry Creek. Dr. Fournier`s professional engagements include free-lance journalism and has written over 70 articles over the past 2 years on a range of topics in the space of energy, environment and climate science.
